Director of Credit

Marvin Boateng serves as the Director of Credit at AltCap California, bringing over 17 years of expertise in small business lending and more than 13 years of experience creating and managing loan programs and providing technical assistance.

Throughout his career, he has helped over 400 businesses secure more than $70 million in funding, resulting in the creation of over 2,500 jobs and 500 childcare slots in high-priority areas across Ventura and Santa Barbara County.

In 2013, Marvin was honored by the Pacific Coast Business Times as one of their “40 Under 40” for his dedication to public service. Marvin is a Certified Valuation Analyst, an alumnus of the African American Board Leadership Institute (AABLI), and a certified Economic Development Financial Professional (EDFP).

Marvin holds dual bachelor’s degrees in African American Studies and Economics from California State University, Northridge, as well as a Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) from California Lutheran University.
